September GOALS

Happy September, friends!

Welcome to my very first monthly goals post! This is an idea I’ve been playing around with, and I’m super excited to make it a reality.

I’m sure I’ll play around with the idea over time, but right now I’m planning for this monthly post to be a round-up of my goals: what progress I’ve made on previous goals, what goals I’ve set for the upcoming month and how I plan to reach them.

Why I’m excited about these posts and where I see this going: 
1. These posts will give me the opportunity to get a little more personal and  connect with you all a bit more.
2. This will provide an awesome way for me to share how I’m using planners and other tools to work toward my goals.
3. On a more selfish note, these posts will be a little bit of accountability for me as I’m working on my goals. I think these posts may end up being more for me than anyone else. These posts are probably going to be long and won’t be as popular as other posts, BUT I hope that those of you who do like them will find them more valuable than the posts that tend to be super popular on Pinterest.

My September goals:
-Get back into a blogging + Instagram-ing routine.
I thrive on routines, but I took a bit of a step back over the summer. I wanted to give myself space to think and dream about how I want to grow in my creativity and how I want to use this little corner of the Internet. I have some really fun goals and plans for this space, and I can’t wait to get to work and put these plans into action.  (First up: This monthly goals series!)
Action item: I’ll be intentional with planning posts, and I’ve carved out a few chunks of time to work on this each week.

-Be more intentional with relationships + friendships.
Let’s be real. It’s hard to make friends as an adult. After watching Lara Casey’s Instagram live series on intentional friendships this summer, I’m determined to be intentional with cultivating meaningful relationships during this season of life. (That’s easy to say and just a little scary to put into practice.)
Action item: This month I’m going to focus on reaching out, putting myself out there, and saying yes more often.

-Cook at home.
This summer I got way too comfortable abandoning my meal plan in favor of Panda Express. I’ve been better the last couple weeks, but I want to focus on cooking at home this month. It’s so much cheaper and healthier!
Action item: Meal plan and stick to it! Try a new recipe each week, so things don’t get boring, but also try to plan several easy meals each week. You don’t have to cook an elaborate meal every night.

-Be creative.
This summer I took some time to rest and re-group. This month, I’m excited to get back into a creative groove. I truly believe that creativity gives birth to creativity, so the best way to create is to start creating.
Action item: My goal is to do something creative every day, even if it’s something small like 15 minutes of lettering. Just start!

-De-clutter.
I think most people do this in the spring, but I always start itching to deep cleaning everything in the fall. I know I’m going to be spending more time inside once it gets cold, and I want to prepare now so I can enjoy that time.
Action item: I’ve made a list of the areas I want to work on, and I’m working my way through the list one area at a time.
